I'm sure that's one of the reasons he traded it in. They always trade them in when they need tires. Easier to pay $500/mo for the next 6 years than to pony up 2 grand for tires you know.

Used to work with a guy who did exactly that. He could afford it and would've bought a new truck anyway. The tires just made a good "timer" and excuse. Of course, he didn't do any customizing on his trucks, so... probably didn't spend as much money overall and probably an easier to sell, more reliable, more valuable in the long run used vehicle placed into the market.
